writer
As a writer, I bring a unique blend of personal experience and professional expertise to my work, driven by a commitment to advocacy and justice. My writing spans a range of topics, including victims' rights, disability advocacy, eldercare, and LGBTQ+ issues.
Through my books, articles, blogs, and podcast, "Shattered Lives," I aim to shine a light on the often overlooked and underserved communities, sharing stories that inspire change and foster understanding. My goal is to give a voice to those who need it most, using my platform to educate, inform, and empower readers to take action and make a difference in the world.
books
Invited to write the foreword for Surviving Loss by Homicide, I introduce readers to the sorrow experienced when losing a loved one suddenly to violent crime. I describes to readers the reality of being a victim, as well as the importance of care, kindness, compassion, and resiliency.
In Victim Impact Statements, I compare, contrast, and teach others the differences involved in presenting a victim impact statement at sentencing, during a plea bargain, and later at a possible parole hearing.
Grief Diaries is the result of heartfelt testimonials from a dedicated and loving group of people. By sharing their stories, the reader will find inspiration and a renewed sense of comfort as they move through their own journey." -CANDACE LIGHTNER, Founder of Mothers Against Drunk Driving
